One Day Alice came
to a fork in the road
and saw a Cheshire
cat in a tree. "Which
road do I take?"
she asked. "Where
do you want to go?"
was his response.
"I don't know" Alice
answered. "Then,"
said the cat, "it
doesn't matter."
"If you don't know
where you are
going, any road
will get you there."

succeed because
they know where
they are going."

Our Formula for Organizational and Personal Success -
(O & P)
= Improved Results
(Organizationally &
Personally)
Beginning with the end in mind, the first thing we look for
is how our customers define success. We start out by asking what actual
improved results (IR) our customers want to achieve in their
organizational and personal lives - and how that will be tracked and
measured. The importance of a this definition of success is that it provides
a target toward which everyone can aim. Everything else we do
is specifically geared toward the successful achievement of those results.
= Positive Behavior
Change
If that target
is different than where you are today, then you must do something
differently. PBC represents Positive Behavioral Change. A definition
of insanity is to do the things you have always done, but expecting
different results.
= Goals Achievement
Doesn't it make sense that if people focused their energies
on goals achievement, it would make it easier for them to change
their behavior in a way that could be sustained? Goal setting is that
tool that generates the activities necessary to turn ideas into strategy,
strategy into plans, and plans into reality.
= Skills + Knowledge
S and K represents the skills needed (the
how to do something) and the knowledge needed (the where and
when to do something) to be successful in achieving your goals.
Our processes focus on the development of leadership and management
behavioral skills in such areas as: meaningful communications, influencing
or selling skills, problem solving, decision making, time management,
developing and praising or disciplining subordinates, delegating authority,
motivating others, appraising performance, etc. Because more than 50%
of the job for a leader or a manager is to use these behavioral skills and
knowledge, we include them in our programs.
= Attitude
The A stands for Attitude (the want to). Our
approach is a result oriented philosophy that involves first developing a
goal-oriented attitude among people. Attitude is more of a multiplier of
skills and knowledge that will directly influence the goals they set and
achieve. They will (in many cases) directly determine whether they turn a
problem into an opportunity, or succumb to it; whether they behave in ways
that benefit the entire organization or maintain fiefdoms; whether they work
to enhance their ability to increase enrollments and foster student
retention, or allow atrophy to set in; whether they diligently look for and
implement continuous improvement, or remain satisfied with the status quo.

direction of his dreams,
and endeavors to love the life which he imagined,
he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
